CORAL BARCLAY
Coral Barclay was born in 1959 on the Pacific West Coast of British Columbia, Canada. She grew up in the beautiful beachside town of Lanztville on Vancouver Island where her family lived in a cabin by the ocean. It was here that she had endless time and opportunity to experience and observe the wonder and wildness of sand, sea and sky. She continues to be entranced by the wildflowers, grasses and moods of the west coast landscape.

Her clients worldwide connect with her paintings which capture the essence of nature's beauty in a vastly changing world. Her depiction of the expanses of beach and windswept skies set the mood for her large acrylic paintings on canvas.

Returning to those West Coast roots, Coral currently resides in the Gulf Islands off the coast of British Columbia.

"I think of my paintings more as memories rather than of literal and particular landscapes. All of my most perfect moments have occurred while looking at or experiencing myself in a beautiful natural environment. My paintings are an attempt to celebrate those brief and fleeting moments."
'Beach Grasses at Whaling Station Bay'
36"x48" acrylic on canvas

"This painting was inspired by one of those memorable summer days at Whaling Station Bay looking out through the windblown sea grasses to the perfect blue sea."
